Tata H7X 7-seater SUV is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2019.

Tata Motors has officially announced that the production-spec 45X premium hatchback, called ALTROZ, will make global debut at the 2019 Geneva Auto Show. Not just Altroz, the homegrown automaker will also showcase the upcoming 7-seater SUV concept along with Vision Hornbill micro SUV concept. Adding to it, the company will also unveil an all-electric model based on the Tata Altroz hatchback.

Talking about the Tata H7X, the 7-seater SUV will be based on the Harrier’s OMEGA ARC platform. It is expected that the company will showcase the near-production concept. In fact, the production-ready model’s design is likely to remain true to the concept. The SUV is basically the 7-seater version of the Harrier, but it will come with new design highlights.

The 7-seater SUV won’t be called Harrier and will carry a new nameplate. The H7X 7-seater SUV will come with longer rear overhang to accommodate a third row of seats. However, the wheelbase of the bigger SUV will be similar to the 5-seater version. The SUV will feature the IMPACT 2.0 DESIGN philosophy that debuted in the Harrier. The Tata H7X SUV will receive a more powerful, BS6-ready 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that is likely to produce around 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. While powering the Harrier, this engine offers 138bhp and 350Nm. For transmission options, the H7X gets a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The Tata Harrier 7-seater is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2019, most probably around October-November. The SUV will directly rival the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming MG Hector SUV.
