While the former will be first one to go on sale, the latter will see a release by the end of this year. Ahead of its launch, the home-grown carmaker has launched the official website of the Altroz hatchback. The company says “The More You Visit, The More It Unveils”. Touted as Urban car, the Tata Altroz was first previewed at the Geneva Motor Show in March, 2019. The hatchback is the company’s first car to be designed on the new ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) modular platform. The same architecture will also be used for the upcoming Tata H2X mini SUV and Blackbird (codename) compact SUV.

Following the IMPACT 2.0 Design philosophy, the Tata Altroz will be offered with both diesel and petrol engine options. The petrol model will derive power from a 1.2L Revotron motor that makes 102bhp and 140Nm of torque. The diesel variant will be packed with a 1.5L Revotorq engine producing a peak power of 92bhp with 210Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and a dual-clutch automatic unit. Reports suggest that Tata might also offer a 1.2L petrol engine with mild hybrid technology.
