2020 Mahindra Scorpio – Closest and Clearest Spy Images Yet

The new-generation Mahindra Scorpio is expected to make debut at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo.

Mahindra will launch the next-generation versions of its popular SUVs including the Thar, the XUV500 and the Scorpio. The testing of the new Thar and Scorpio has already been started. This time, the closer and clearest spy images of the 2020 Mahindra Scorpio have hit the internet. The new model looks completely different from the current-generation Scorpio.

It is clear that the all-new Mahindra Scorpio is bigger and spacious than the current model. Adding to it, the design is completely new and looks more modern. The spotted model is currently in its early state of development, featuring temporary headlamps and tail-lights. The SUV gets newly developed and bigger front grille and headlamp unit.

The SUV continues with the boxy design, featuring squarish wheel arches and MPV-ish side profile. The new Mahindra Scorpio gets extended C-pillar, which makes it longer than the current version. Instead of side facing, the third row will come with forward facing seats. The outgoing model has jump seats in the rear. The all-new Scorpio will be based on the thoroughly updated ladder-on-frame chassis, which is strong enough to meet the upcoming BNVSAP crash norms. It will be powered by a BS5 compliant 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that is likely to produce around 160bhp of power. This engine will also power the next-gen Thar and the XUV500, but in different states of tunes.

The previous interior images reveal that the all-new Scorpio will receive the spacious and feature-loaded interior. The SUV will have Alturas G4 inspired dashboard design, featuring a large touchscreen infotainment system. Features like steering wheel, gear knob and instrument console are likely to be sourced from the Marazzo. The lower-spec models could get the smaller 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The new-generation Mahindra Scorpio is expected to make debut at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. It is likely to be launched before April 2020. Likely to be priced around Rs 12 – Rs 16 lakh, the new Scorpio will challenge the likes of the Tata Harrier and the MG Hector.
