Tata Altroz Hatchback Set To Launch In January 2020
Tata Motors has confirmed that the Altroz premium hatchback will go on sale in January, 2020. Though, the official launch date is yet to be announced. The Tata Altroz was first showcased as 45X concept at the 2018 Auto Expo and its production model was unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.
From the day 1, the Tata Altroz will be made available with the BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines. While the specifications are still under the wraps, it’s likely to come with three powertrains – a 1.2L petrol, a 1.2L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel.
The 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol delivers a peak power of 85bhp and the 1.2L turbocharged gasoline unit makes 102bhp. The oil burner is good enough for 90bhp. A 5-speed gearbox will be standard across the hatchback carline. The carmaker might offer an automatic transmission at a later stage.
We have reported earlier that the Tata Altroz and the Tata H2X concept based car will share 70% of components. The premium hatchback will get a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Features such as a 7-inch TFT display, a digital analogue instrument cluster, cruise control, climate control and 12V charging port will also be on offer. On the safety front, the Tata Altroz will offer dual airbags, reverse parking camera, ABS with EBD as standard equipment.
