Suzuki Motorcycle India Resumes Operations At its Haryana Plant
Ensuring the implementation of stringent safety norms and social distancing guidelines directed by the Government of India,Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), the two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japantoday resumed production at its manufacturing facility atKherkiDhaula, Gurugram. The company has commenced the operationsafter receiving permission from concerned authorities, by adopting detailed safety guidelines and safety measures for its employees. After closely monitoring the situation to avoid any kind of Covid-19 spread, Suzuki Motorcycle India has charted detailed guidelines for all its employees which includesocial distancing, wearing of masks, periodic sanitization and avoiding movement in large groups among others. It has also installed disinfectant chamber for individuals to pass through it every day in order to prevent any infection and maintain a safe working environment.
Mr. Koichiro Hirao, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, “As Suzuki Motorcycle India restarts its plant operation, our priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our employees since we continue to fight the battle against Covid-19. At the onset, SMIPL will resume operation with limited workforce and will gradually shift to full production cycle as per the Government’s directive. We have implemented detailed operating guidelines with emphasis on social distancing to ensure maximum precautions are taken by all our employees. In order to overcome the challenges faced due to the ongoing situation, we also believe that it is necessary that we all stay together in high spirits bycontinuing to motivate each other”
It is to be noted that SMIPL suspended its plant operations from March 23, 2020 under the Government’s directives to follow the nationwide lockdown to avoid Covid-19 pandemic spread.
