New-gen Kia Carnival MPV – What We Know So Far
The New-gen Kia Carnival will be based on the 3rd generation N3 platform that also underpins the new Kia Sorento.
Kia Motors has started testing the next-gen Kia Carnival MPV, which has been spotted testing multiple times on foreign soil. In fact, clear interior images of the MPV have also been leaked on the Internet. The new model is likely to be launched in early 2021 in the global markets; however, the India-spec model is expected to be launched in late 2021 or early 2022. Here are five things we know about the upcoming 2021 Kia Carnival MPV –
4-Seater Version
The global media claims that the new-gen Kia Carnival will also receive a new 4-seater variant. This model will join the 7-seat, 8-seat, 9-seat and 11-seat versions of the Carnival MPV. Kia believes that the new 4-seater Carnival will be popular among CEOs and corporate executives. It will have comfortable seats and can be used as a work space.
All-New Interior
The new-gen Kia Carnival will come with all-new interior, which is likely to share some of the design and features from the new Sorento SUV. The MPV will have all-new dashboard design with massive touchscreen infotainment and instrument console designed to form a single unit. The MPV will have new door handles, new air-con vents, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and new seats.
Revised Styling
Going by the spy images available on the Internet, it is visible that the next Carnival will have more aggressive styling than the outgoing model. The MPV will follow the brand’s new design language, which we have already seen on the new-gen Kia Sorento. It will come with new SUV-styled Tiger-Nose grille with chrome elements in the top-end model, LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED fog lamps and LED tail-lamps.
New Platform
The new-gen Kia Carnival is designed and developed on the next-gen N3 platform, which also underpins the new-gen Kia Sorento SUV. This is the brand’s new modular platform, which was first debuted with the new Hyundai Sonata. This platform is compatible to accommodate different body styles and engine options.
Global unveil in H2, 2020
The new-gen Kia Carnival MPV is scheduled to be unveiled in the second half of 2020. It is likely to be unveiled in July-August in the Korean market, while the global launch is expected in early 2021.
