Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors have planned multiple new models for India, which are ready to hit roads in the next couple of months. Here’re key details of the soon-to-be-launched new Maruti Suzuki and Tata cars.
Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Cars
2022 Maruti Ertiga
The Indo-Japanese automaker has confirmed that it will launch the new Ertiga facelift on 15th April 2022. Official bookings for the vehicle have already been commenced at a token sum of Rs 11,000. The MPV will receive a few design changes and feature upgrades. Though, the significant update will be made under the hood. The 2022 Maruti Ertiga facelift is reported to come with a new 1.5L K15C Dualjet petrol engine with the a new 6-speed automatic gearbox and paddle shifters. A 5-speed manual gearbox will continue to be standard across the model lineup.
2022 Maruti XL6
After the new Ertiga, the new 2022 Maruti XL6 will be the second product launch from the Indo-Japanese carmaker in the country. While its official launch date is yet to be announced, the model is reported to witness a release on 21st April 2022. Compared to the new Ertiga, the updated XL6 will come with more noticeable changes inside and out. Though, it will feature the same new 1.5L K15C Dualjet petrol motor and a new 6-speed automatic gearbox that will be offered on the new Ertiga. Speculations suggest that the company might introduce the XL6 facelift with the 7-seats configuration as well.
2022 Maruti Brezza
The second-generation Maruti Brezza is surely one of the much-awaited new car launches of this year. The SUV’s new model is reported to arrive by mid 2022. With the generation change, the Brezza will receive several new features for the very first time. It might get a factory-fitted sunroof, a 360 degree camera, connected car features, wireless phone charging and hill hold assist feature. The 2022 Maruti Brezza will use the same 1.5L K15B petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid tech. Though, the hybrid system could be offered on both manual and automatic variants.
Updated Maruti Ignis, S-Presso
Maruti Suzuki is reported to launch the Ignis and S-Presso small cars with the 1.2L Dualjet K12C engine with the ISG (Idle start-stop) technology. The new motor will improve overall performance and fuel efficiency of the vehicles. At present, the Ignis comes with the 90bhp, 1.2L K12N petrol engine and S-Presso gets a 68bhp, 1.0L petrol motor. No cosmetic changes and feature upgrades are likely to be made to both models.
Maruti Baleno CNG
Maruti Suzuki will soon bring in the CNG version of the newly-launched Baleno premium hatchback. The model will feature the 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine with the factory-fitted CNG kit. The gasoline unit makes a claimed power of 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. While the regular petrol version offers fuel efficiency of over 22kmpl, the Maruti Baleno CNG will deliver around 25kmpl. Though, the latter will be slightly less powerful and torqueier than the standard version.
Upcoming New Tata Cars
2022 Tata Nexon EV
The long-range Tata Nexon EV is ready to launch on April 20, 2022. The updated model will come with the bigger 40kWh battery pack offering a range of over 400km on a single charge. It would be around 300-320km in the rear world conditions. It might also come with the selectable regeneration modes along with features such as a park mode, ventilated seats, electronic stability control and cruise control. The 2022 Tata Nexon EV will also continue to be offered with the existing 30.2kWh battery pack. A few changes will be made to its exterior as well.
2022 Tata Tigor EV
Tata Motors is also expected to launch the updated Tigor EV in the coming weeks. Similar to the new Nexon EV, the electric sedan is likely to come with the larger battery and offer longer range. With the updated Ziptron electric powertrain, the new 2022 Tata Tigor EV might offer range of 375km-400km on a full charge. The automaker could also retune its suspension units for improving its safety quotient. Compared to the existing model that costs between Rs 11.99 lakh – Rs 13.14 lakh, the new Tigor EV is expected to be priced slightly premium.
