India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki has started accepting pre-bookings for the new Ertiga facelift. Interested buyers can pre-order the 2022 Maruti Ertiga online or at authorised Arena dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. The refreshed model will be launched in the country on April 15, 2022.
The company has also released a teaser image. The Ertiga facelift will come with cosmetic design changes, a revised feature list and a new engine & gearbox option. The new model will also debut the brand’s new 1.5-litre K15C dualjet petrol engine. The new dualjet engine will replace the outgoing K15B engine. The new motor will also power the future Maruti models including the new Brezza.
Previous media reports claim that the new 1.5L K15C petrol engine will produce 115bhp of power that’s 10bhp more than the outgoing K15B unit. A 5-speed manual gearbox will come as standard. Instead of a 4-speed torque convertor, the new Ertiga petrol engine will be paired to a 6-sped automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.
The new 1.5-litre K15C dualjet petrol engine will get a mild hybrid system. It will come with integrated starter generator and auto-start stop system. The new Ertiga facelift will also receive a CNG version. The CNG version is currently offered only in the VXi variant. With the update, the CNG version will also be offered in the ZXi variant.
IIn terms of changes, the 2022 Maruti Ertiga facelift will get a new front grille, Suzuki Connect telematics, and a new SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system. The MPV is also expected to be equipped with new seat upholstery, wireless phone charging, new automatic AC and redesigned air con vents.
