Maruti Suzuki India has a handful of new models, which are slated to arrive in the next couple of years. The automaker recently launched the ‘new-age’ Baleno hatchback that will be soon followed by the new Ertiga and XL6 facelifts. The second-generation Maruti Brezza and a new mid-size SUV will surely be major product launches from the Indo-Japanese carmaker in the country. We have seen multiple test mules of both models via spy images and videos.
Talking about the new 2022 Maruti Brezza, the subcompact SUV will witness comprehensive changes in terms of design and features. Interestingly, it will be the first Maruti Suzuki to receive the factory-fitted sunroof.
According to a latest media report, the SUV’s new model will come with stronger bodyshell that will make it safer than the current generation. Its front and rear profile will be completely revised with the newly-designed grille, more upright nose, new LED headlamps with LED DRLs, flatter bonnet, slimmer LED taillamps and new tailgate. The newly-designed, dual-tone alloy wheels will further enhance its new look.
With the generation change, the new Maruti Brezza 2022 will receive several features for the very first time. The subcompact SUV will be equipped with a bigger and updated 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display, connected car features, a 360 degree camera, wireless phone charging and more. Its new flat-bottomed steering wheel and new instrument dials will be sourced from the Swift hatchback. Similar to the new Baleno, the second-generation Maruti Brezza will get six airbags and hill hold assist feature.
For power, the new 2022 Maruti Brezza will use the existing 1.5L, 4-cylinder K15B petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Though, the existing 4-speed torque convertor automatic transmission will be replaced with the new 6-speed gearbox. The automatic variants will get paddle shifters. The mild hybrid tech, which is currently reserved for the automatic variants, could be offered across the range. This time around, the automaker might also introduce the CNG fuel option on the new Brezza model lineup.
