Suzuki Burgman Street
Joining our list of new scooters at Auto Expo 2018 is the Suzuki’s new performance scooter – Burgman Street. This premium scooter will also mark the second innings of Suzuki’s global Burgman brand. Just to jog your memory, Suzuki had launched the Burgman 650cc scooter in India at Rs 12 lakh. This time, Suzuki India has indigenously design and developed the Burgman Street to price it competitively. Additionally, it will be the first maxi-scooter to be launched in India since the Kinetic Blaze, which was phased out due to slow sale.
This premium scooter is equipped with features like fully digital instrument console, a multi-function key slot, LED tail-lamp, 12V charging socket and a disc brake at the front. Mechanical details are yet to be revealed, but the scooter is expected to feature the 154cc, single-cylinder engine that also powers the Intruder 150. However, this powertrain will be tweaked to meet the scooter needs. It will rival the likes of Aprilia SR150 and the upcoming Yamaha Aerox 155.
TVS Graphite Scooter
TVS Motor Company is also planning to launch a performance scooter in the Indian market. The company is expected to launch the Graphite based scooter, which was first unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. This scooter will be showcased at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The new TVS scooter is expected to feature a 125cc engine that is capable of producing 11.5bhp paired to a CVT unit. It is expected to have a top speed of over 100kmph.
This all-new scooter will be positioned against the likes of Aprilia SR 125 and Honda Grazia. Talking about design highlights, the scooter gets sharp lines, split grab rails for the pillion and angular elements in the apron. It is equipped with apron mounted halogen headlamp with LED daytime running light, an active LED console showing vital data, tubeless tyres and aluminium pillion footpegs. This scooter is likely to feature segment first features including Bluetooth telephony.
