2018 Auto Expo witnessed some of the really exciting new products from the house of Maruti Suzuki. While the Future S compact SUV concept and Swift were the major highlights, the company also unveiled its all-new range of the electric and hybrid vehicles including Maruti e-Survivor electric SUV concept. Prior to the biennial event, the Suzuki Solio compact 7-seater MPV was spotted uncamouflaged in Gurugram, Haryana. The sighting gave fire to rumours of its unveiling at the expo; however, that didn’t happen. Just so you know, the vehicle was also snapped in the country a few years back. Maruti Suzuki Solio Exterior & Interior
The Maruti Suzuki Solio is essentially the bigger MPV version of the WagonR hatchback. It’s taller and more premium than its donor sibling. The company is already retailing the sub-4 meter compact MPV in the Japanese and Chinese markets. Sitting on a long wheelbase, the car offers a spacious cabin with ample head and legroom. Its left and right hand remote control electric sliding rear doors further enhance its practicality.
The upright and tall stance gives the Solio a boxy appearance. The car features an upright rear windshield, thick chrome strip with clear lens taillamps and a roof spoiler at the rear end. Interior of the Maruti Suzuki Solio features a touchscreen infotainment system, 3-spoke, multi functional steering wheel and centrally mounted instrument cluster. Maruti Suzuki Solio Specifications
Powering the Japan-spec Solio is a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine coupled to a motor generator unit (MGU). This hybrid powerplant is capable to generate a top power of 90bhp and 118Nm of peak torque. Transmission option on offer is a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). Maruti Suzuki Solio India Launch
