TVS Electric Scooter
It is expected that TVS Motor Company could showcase an electric scooter at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo in February. The company is currently testing this scooter on Indian roads. It is expected that TVS will showcase the pre-production version of the scooter at the Auto Expo. The homegrown two-wheeler automaker has recently bought some stakes in a Bangalore-based EV start-up Ultraviolette Automotive.
It is expected that the new electric scooter will be based on the Jupiter scooter. It is expected to come with a lightly stepped and comfortable seat. The scooter will also get a roomy flat floorboard, flush fitted turn indicators and bag storage hooks. For braking, it will get drum brakes on both the ends.
Hero 125cc scooter
World’s largest two-wheeler maker, Hero MotoCorp is also planning to launch a premium scooter in the Indian market. This model will be showcased alongside other new Hero scooters at Auto Expo 2018. The all-new 125cc scooter will rival the likes of Suzuki Access 125, Honda Activa 125 and Honda Grazia. As a reminder, Hero had showcased the Dare 125 scooter concept at the 2014 Auto Expo. However, media reports believe that the new 125cc scooter could be a newly developed offering.
This new scooter is expected to get a range of segment leading features and a powerful 125cc single-cylinder engine. It is expected that Hero will showcase the concept version of the scooter at the Auto event, while the production model could be launched in the second half of 2018. This scooter will be equipped with full digital instrument console, full LED tail-lights, automatic headlamp on, dual-tone wheel design and comfortable seat.
