Renault Triber Gets Expensive – Here’s the New Price List

Renault Triber Turbo Variant

In January 2020, Renault India introduced the BS6-compliant version of the Triber subcompact 7-seater MPV. With the upgrade, the vehicle witnessed a price hike of Rs 4,000 to Rs 29,000 depending on the variant. Now, the carmaker has yet again increased its prices by Rs 4,000. Interestingly, the entry-level RXE trim has been spared from the price hike and continues to come at Rs 4.99 lakh.

The Renault Triber RXS, RXT and RXZ variants are now available at Rs 5.78 lakh, Rs 6.28 lakh and Rs 6.82 lakh respectively (all, ex-showroom Delhi). All three trims get expensive by Rs 4,000. The compact MPV is powered by 1.0L, 3-cylinder petrol engine that’s good enough for 72PS and 96Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard across the lineup.

Renault Triber AMT

The carmaker has already confirmed that the Triber will get a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox in the second half of this year. The Triber AMT variant made its public debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. Besides this, the compact MPV will receive a more powerful 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbocharged (TCe100) petrol engine. The new motor will be capable to deliver a maximum power of 99bhp and 160Nm of torque.

The same powertrain will be used in the upcoming Renault subcompact SUV – HBC (codename). Reports suggest that it could be named ‘Renault Kinger’. Slated to launch in H2, 2020, the Renault HBC will be based on the Kwid’s CMF-A platform, but with a longer wheelbase. When launched, it will take head-to-head against multiple cars including Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and the upcoming Kia Sonet.
