We informed you earlier that Renault will launch 4 cars in India in the next 2 years. This year, the company will launch the Triber 7-seater MPV and the facelift versions of the Kwid and Duster. Renault is also working on a sub-4 meter SUV, codenamed HBC, which will be launched in 2020. The new Renault Kwid 2020 has been spotted testing for the first time in India.

Going by the spy images, it is visible that the Renault Kwid facelift design is inspired by the Kwid EV that recently debuted in China. The vehicle gets new headlamp setup with LED daytime running lights on top and main headlight in the lower bumper. The grille design is also differently styled with horizontal slats. Side and rear profile looks largely identical to the current Kwid. The new model looks slightly bigger than the current model. It is likely to be launched by the end of 2019 or in the first quarter of 2020.

The Renault Kwid 2020 is also expected to receive updates inside the cabin. It is likely to receive rear air-con vents, climate control, updated touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, new upholstery for seats, etc.

The 2020 Renault Kwid is likely to be powered by the BS6 compliant 1.0-litre petrol engine. The current model is available with 2 engine options – 800cc, 3-cylinder and 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder. It is early to comment whether the 800cc engine will be updated with BS6 norms. The French automaker is likely to update the platform of the hatchback to meet upcoming Bharat NCAP safety norms. Driver side airbag, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder and speed alert will come as standard.
