2019 Renault Kwid and Duster Facelift Launching This Year
Renault will launch 4 new cars in India in the next 2 years.
French automaker, Renault will launch 4 cars in the Indian market in the 2019 and 2020. This year, the brand will launch 3 new models including the Triber 7-seater MPV and the facelift versions of the Kwid and the Duster. The company is also working on an all-new sub-4 meter SUV, which will be based on the CMF-A modular platform. This SUV will rival the likes of Tata Nexon and the Maruti Vitara Brezza.
The Renault Kwid facelift is expected to be launched in the second half of 2019, most probably around September. It is expected that the facelifted model will share styling cues from the Kwid-based – the City K-ZE electric vehicle that recently unveiled at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show. The updated Kwid is likely to receive new front bumper with new headlights similar to the City K-ZE. The hatchback could also receive new LED daytime running lights. The grille design is also expected to be modified. The side profile is not likely to receive major upgrades, except for the new set of wheels. The vehicle could get alloy wheels, which are missing in the outgoing model.
Renault is also likely to make some changes to the platform to meet the upcoming crash test norms. The cabin is not likely to receive major upgrades, except for the new safety enhancement. The updated model will get driver-side airbag as standard with provision to offer dual front airbags. ABS with EBD, brake assist, rear parking sensors, speed alert and seatbelt reminder will be offered as standard.
Talking about the Duster facelift, the SUV is expected to receive significant changes inside the cabin. Media reports claim that Renault won’t launch the second-generation Duster in India. Our market will serve as a global hub for the 3rd generation Duster, which is expected in 2022-23. Till 2022, Renault will continue to sell the existing Duster with regular updates in our market.
The Renault Duster facelift is expected to be launched in the end of this year. The SUV will receive all-new cabin, which is likely to share components and features with the new Nissan Kicks. It will have a new touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, better quality materials and fit and finish, new seats and others. The SUV will be available with 2 engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel.
