Over 2.7 Lakh Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Sold In 5 Years
Maruti Suzuki India has been selling the Ciaz mid-size sedan for over 5 years and now the vehicle has reached over 2.7 lakh customers in the country. The fully-loaded Alpha variant and Nexa Blue colour models contribute to over 54% and over 30% of total sales of the sedan respectively. Its automatic and Smart Hybrid variants too have received significant success with close to 17% buyers are opting them.
First launched in 2014, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz commands over 30% market share in the premium mid-size sedan segment. Over 50% sales of the sedan comes from metro and tier I markets. Attributes such as sleek design, premium interior and strong performance have always worked in its favour.
In August 2018, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz received its first mid-life update with minor design and feature changes. Though, the major update made under the hood. The Ciaz facelift gets a new 1.5L K15 Smart Hybrid petrol engine lithium ion battery instead of the old 1.4L petrol motor. In March 2019, the sedan lineup received a new 1.5L DDiS diesel engine that’s good for 94bhp and 225Nm.
