2019 Maruti Ciaz gets bigger 1.5-litre diesel engine – Prices and details
The new Maruti Ciaz 1.5L diesel variant is available in 3 variants priced between Rs 9.97 lakh and 11.37 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki has introduced the long-awaited new 1.5-litre DDiS 225 diesel engine in the Indian market. Developed in-house, the new 1.5-litre engine is claimed to offer improved performance, best-in-class fuel efficiency, enhanced torque and power with refined NVH performance. This new engine is introduced in the 2019 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, which also receives a newly developed 6-speed gearbox. The new Maruti Ciaz 1.5L diesel variant is available in 3 variants – Delta, Zeta and Alpha – priced at Rs 9.97 lakh, 11.08 lakh and 11.37 lakh respectively. All the prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
While powering the new Ciaz, this 1.5-litre DDiS 225 diesel engine produces 94bhp of power at 4,000rpm and a peak torque of 225Nm between 1,500 and 2,500rpm. It is benefitted with a high efficiency turbo charger which generates higher low-end torque through optimization, which makes city driving hassle free. Adding to it, the use of a Dual Mass Flywheel and optimized compressed ration reduces engine fluctuations and offers higher NVH levels. Also See – Upcoming Maruti Cars in India
The new Maruti Ciaz 1.5L diesel model is claimed to offer an impressive fuel economy of 26.82kmpl. The engine is paired to a newly designed 6-speed gearbox, which is claimed to offer light gear shift feel.
