New Tata Cars, SUVs, EVs Launch In 2023-24

Tata Motors is preparing to launch multiple new cars and SUVs in the next couple of years. The company has showcased multiple new products at the 2023 Auto Expo. These models are scheduled to be launched in the country in the next couple of years. Here is a list of upcoming new Tata cars, SUVs and electric vehicles in the country in 2023 and 2024 –

Tata Punch CNG

The homegrown automaker, Tata Motors will launch the Punch CNG in the country in 2023. The CNG version of the hatchback has already been caught testing on the Indian roads. The new model comes with two CNG cylinders, which is also the first in the country. It also comes with a factory-fitted electric sunroof. It is powered by the same 1.2L 3-cylinder Revotron engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. This powertrain produces around 70-75bhp and torque close to 100Nm. It is expected to offer a mileage of around 30km/kg.

Tata Altroz CNG

Similar to the Punch CNG, the Tata Altroz CNG also comes with two CNG cylinders. It will be offered with the 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine paired to a factory-fitted CNG kit. There will be a slight drop in power output while running on CNG. The regular petrol engine produces 110bhp and 140Nm of torque. It will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Tata Tiago Blitz

The homegrown automaker has revealed the Tiago EV Blitz edition at the Auto Expo 2023. It is basically the sportier version of the electric Tiago that went on sale in late 2022. In terms of styling, the Tata Tiago EV Blitz comes with all-black trim in the closed-off grille and under the headlamps. It has gloss black finish Y-shaped motifs in the air dam replacing the body coloured accents. The EV gets gloss black finished rear spoiler, pronounced wheel arches & ORVMs. The Tiago EV Blitz badges are placed on the front grille, front doors and tailgate.

Inside the cabin, it gets head restraints with blue bolt motif stitch. It has been painted in White colour. Powertrain options for the new Tata Tiago EV Blitz are not available. The regular model is available with 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery packs, offering a claimed range of 250km and 315km respectively.

Tata Harrier & Safari Red Dark Edition

Tata Motors has showcased the Harrier and Safari Red Dark Editions at the Auto Expo 2023. The sportier models come with the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with features like autonomous emergency braking, departure warning system, lane change alert, collision mitigation system, blind spot monitoring system, door open alert, driver monitoring system, high beam assist, front collision warning.

Both models come with a new bigger digital driver display and a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice commands supporting 6 languages. The SUVs also get sporty red leather upholstery and moon lighting function. The Safari Red Dark Edition features electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function and electric Bose mode, and a powered co-passenger seat. The new SUVs are powered by the same 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine that produces 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. Both SUVs come with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Tata Curvv Petrol & EV

Tata Motors has showcased the petrol version of the Curvv SUV Coupe at the 2023 Auto Expo. The model was finished in red and looks closer to production. The company has confirmed that the production-ready model will be launched in 2024. It is based on Tata’s Generation 2EV architecture that’s compatible with multiple bodystyles and powertrain options. The platform is designed to accommodate larger batteries and different powertrains including a dual motor setup offering an AWD system.

The electric version is likely to offer a range of over 400km. The petrol version is likely to be powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol or a 1.5L turbo petrol engine. It will rival against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder.

Tata Sierra EV & Petrol

Tata Motors has showcased the new Sierra concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. The final version of the SUV is reportedly to be launched sometime in 2024-25. The company will introduce the new SUV with two powertrain options – petrol and electric. It is likely to get a bigger battery pack with dual motor setup for AWD setup. The Sierra EV is expected to offer a range of over 400km on a single charge.

The Tata Sierra petrol version is likely to use one of the brand’s new turbocharged petrol engines that were revealed at the Auto Expo 2023. The homegrown automaker revealed two petrol engines – a 1.2L 3-cylinder and 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo petrol units producing 125PS/225Nm and 170PS/280NM respectively.

Tata Harrier EV

Tata Motors has showcased the closer to production ready Harrier EV at the 2023 Auto Expo. The company has confirmed that the Tata Harrier electric will arrive in our market in 2024. It is designed on the Land Rover-derived OMEGA ARC platform, which is combined with Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture.

Tata Motors hasn’t revealed anything about the battery capacity or electric motor, which wil power the Harrier EV. The SUV will come with a dual-motor all-wheel drive set-up. It is likely to feature a battery pack of around 60kWh and could offer a real-world range of around 400-500km. Tata Motors has also confirmed that the new Harrier EV will come with vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capacities.

Tata Safari & Harrier Facelift

Tata Motors is preparing the upgraded versions of the Safari and Harrier, which are expected to be launched sometime in 2023. The Harrier EV also previews the styling of the upcoming Harrier facelift. The new models will receive design changes and an upgraded cabin with more features. The new SUVs will receive a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, wireless connectivity features, a digital driver display, ADAS tech and others.

The new Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts will receive the existing 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. The company has also showcased the 170PS, 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine, which will also be offered on the Harrier & Safari facelifts. 

Tata Altroz Racer

Tata Motors has showcased the Altroz Racer edition, which is packed with a more powerful petrol engine. It is fitted with a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine churns out 120bhp of power and 170Nm of torque. It will directly rival the Hyundai i20 N Line, which is fitted with a 118bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine.

The hatchback is painted in dual-tone Red & Black colour scheme. It gets a different front bumper, new alloys, body decals and the ‘Racer’ badging on the outside. Inside the cabin, the hatchback gets a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch TFT digital instrument console, rear centre armrest, electric sunroof, etc.
