Tata Curvv Concept (Creta Rival) Unveiled – All Key Details

The Tata Curvv concept, which was first unveiled in April 2022, has finally made its India debut at the 2023 Auto Expo. The concept previews Tata’s new ‘Digital’ design language that will be used for the brand’s future SUV lineup. The first model to carry this new design language will be a mid-size SUV coupe that will go on sale within the next two years.

The front fascia of the Curvv concept looks striking with a neatly sculpted bumper, triangular headlamp housings and full length LED light bar. The side profile has been adored by a bold should line, body cladding and squared-off wheel arches. It has coupe-like sloping roofline that’s integrated into its notchback-styled boot. At the rear section, the SUV features an angular bumper, full-width light bar taillamps and triangular air vents.

Interior of the new Tata Curvv concept has minimalist design with three-layer dashboard, angular section at the bottom and a LED light strip running the width of the cabin. It has two free-standing digital screens – one for the instrument cluster and another for the infotainment system. There is a floating centre console layout with the climate control switches placed in between, rotary gear selector and centre armrest. The SUV comes with a new two-spoke steering wheel. The Currv concept underpins Tata’s Generation 2 EV architecture that’s compatible to multiple bodystyles and powertrain options. It’s essentially the heavily modified version of the brand’s existing platforms. The Gen 2 architecture has been designed to accommodate larger batteries and different powertrains. It can be used for a dual motor setup offering an AWD (all-wheel drive) system.

The production-ready version of the Tata Curvv is likely to offer a range of around 400-500km. The company will also bring in the SUV with ICE (internal combustion engine) setup at a later stage. The Curvv ICE version will be positioned against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder.
