The vehicle has already been on sale in select South Asian markets including Vietnam, Indonesia and others in its league. However, the India-spec model will miss out on several features available in the global markets. Instead of USD front forks, the R15 V3.0 in India will be equipped with traditional telescopic front fork. It comes with steel footpeg holders instead of aluminium. Additionally, it misses out on saree guard. Also Read – New Yamaha R15 V3.0 Vs Old R15
The design of the R15 V3.0 is largely identical to the global spec model. Feature list include all-digital instrument cluster, rear-set footpegs, clip-on handlebars, LED headlight and tail light and LED indicators. Powering the motorcycle is a new 155cc, single-cylinder engine with liquid-cooling and fuel injection. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 19.04bhp and a peak torque of 14.7Nm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. The outgoing V2.0 is equipped with a 149cc engine that is good for 17PS and 15Nm of torque. For braking duties, the bike gets dual disc brakes. The alloy wheels are shod with MRF tyres, while the spotted model misses out on ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).
