New Kia Sorento (Skoda Kodiaq Rival) First Official Images Revealed

Kia Motors has released the first official images of the new-generation Kia Sorento. The SUV is scheduled to make its public debut at the 2020 Geneva International Motor Show.

The fourth generation Kia Sorento will directly rival the Skoda Kodiaq and others in the global markets. It comes with all-new styling, which has some similarities with the larger Kia Telluride. The SUV features more sculpted design rather than the round-edged predecessor. The SUV gets sharper lines and bold creases all around the body.

The front looks bolder, thanks to the Kia’s signature ‘Tiger Nose’ grille, and wider integrated headlamps. The company claims that the headlamps feature a new ‘tiger eye’ LED daytime running lights. The company has also altered the proportions of the Sorento to make it look longer. It features shorter front and rear overhangs and a longer wheelbase. The SUV has longer bonnet with A-pillar moving backward by 30mm to offer a ‘car-rearward’ design. There is a strong character line that extends along the side of the Sorento and merges into the new vertically-stacked tail-lights.

Kia has released the single interior image, which seems largely similar to the predecessor. It gets a new larger infotainment touchscreen system, a new digital instrument console, and new air-con vents and buttons. It gets metallic trims, leather upholstery and embossed wood-effect surfaces. 2021 Kia Sorento Interior

The Koa Sorento SUV will be offered with 2 engines – a 202bhp, 2.2L diesel and a hybrid powertrain. It comes with a 230bhp hybrid powertrain, which comprises of a 1.6-litre petrol engine, a 60bhp electric motor and a 1.5kWh battery. The company will also introduce a plug-in hybrid variant on a later stage, which will have a larger capacity battery and a 90bhp electric motor.
