Next-gen Kia Carnival MPV to Receive 4-Seater Variant

Korean automaker, Kia is readying the next-gen Carnival MPV that has been spotted multiple times on foreign soil. The new model will be based on the next-gen N3 platform, which underpins the new Kia Sorento SUV. A new media report claims that the next-gen Kia Carnival will also receive a 4-seater version.

The report claims that the next-gen Kia Carnival will make debut in the second half of this year, most probably around August-September. The 4-seater version will join the 7-seat, 8-seat, 9-seat and 11-seat versions of the Carnival MPV. The 4-seater MPVs are popular among CEOs and corporate executives. It will have comfortable seats and can be used as a work space.

Kia Carnival Front Design

The fourth-gen Kia Carnival will receive significantly revised exterior and interior styling. The spy images confirm that the new model will have new aggressive, SUV-style front grille, LED headlamps with LED DRLs, LED fog lamps and LED tail-lamps. The cabin will also receive significant changes in the form of new dashboard design, added features and more comfortable seats.

The interior is likely to share some of the design and features from the new-gen Sorento SUV. It will have new dashboard design with touchscreen infotainment and instrument console designed to form a single unit. The MPV will have new door handles, new air-con vents, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and new seats.

Kia Carnival Review Interior

Few media reports claim that the next-gen Kia Carnival could come with all-wheel-drive layout as an option. The engineers will also add revised rear suspension layout. It is likely to be powered by the same 2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that powers the existing model and the Sorento SUV. This engine is capable of producing 198bhp and 440Nm of torque. Instead of the 8-speed torque convertor, the upcoming Carnival is likely to get an 8-speed wet-plate DCT.
