Mercedes AMG GT-R will be the fourth AMG model from the German carmaker this year.
Mercedes AMG GT-R performance sets a new record at BIC (Buddha International Circuit) with a lap time of 2 mins 09.853 seconds. With this achievement, it has earned the title of the fastest production car ever at the famed F1 circuit. Over 0.05 seconds faster in its outing at the BCI track, the AMG GT-R has now beaten the Mercedes SLS AMG that clocked the fastest lap in 2 minis 14.521 seconds in March, 2013. Touted as ‘Beast of the Green Hell’, the Mercedes AMG GT R is all set to have its India debut on 21st August 2017. This will be the fourth AMG model from the German carmaker this year. Recently, the German luxury carmaker imported the first ever Right Hand Drive (RHD) model manufactured at brand’s Affalterbach plant in Germany.
Painted in signature ‘AMG Green Hell Magno’ shade, this performance-oriented Mercedes derives its power from a twin turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine that’s good for 577bhp. This makes it around 75bhp more than the previous GT S. The torque figure of this motor stands at 700Nm. This high-performance athlete is capable of achieving 0-100kmph sprints in just 3.6 seconds. The car has new active aerodynamic profile in the underbody that improves its drag coefficient and performance. For the first time, Mercedes has used the standard-fit active rear-wheel steering on the 2017 AMG GT-R. This system offers a perfect combination of stability and agility. What further enhance its track performance are AMG traction control, electronically controlled limited slip differential on the rear axle, wider front and rear wings.
