Maruti XL6 Crossover – What’s New In The New 6-seater Ertiga

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the long-awaited Ertiga Cross on August 21, 2019. Called the Maruti XL6 Crossover, the upcoming new model will be based on the Ertiga MPV. Maruti Suzuki has started production of the new crossover MPV. In fact, clear exterior pictures of the Maruti XL6 have already hit the internet.

6-seater Crossover

The Maruti XL6 is basically the six-seater version of the popular Ertiga MPV. This model will come with captain seats for all 3 rows. The 6-seater cross will have dedicated AC vents for all 3 rows. The second row captain seats will come with reclining function for improved comfort level.

Aggressive Design

The Ertiga based Maruti XL6 comes with significant changes and fresh design. It comes with more upright front and a flatter hood design. The Cross gets newly styled trapezoidal grille with dual-chrome strips at the centre. There is a chunky front bumper with newly designed elements running below the headlamps.  Other design highlights include larger fog lamps, a wider air inlet and a faux brushed aluminum skid plate.

BSVI engine

The Maruti XL6 is powered by a BSVI compliant version of the new 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that produces 104bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor. The XL6 won’t be offered with the diesel engine option.


The new Maruti XL6 crossover will be sold via the NEXA premium sales and service network. The new model is likely to come in top-end version only. It is expected to be priced around Rs 8-10 lakh. Higher ground clearance & all-black interiors

The Maruti XL6 is expected to be offered in multiple variants. The top-spec model could be offered in a dual-tone paint scheme with a contrasting roof. The XL6 will come with a slightly raised ride height, while the body cladding can be seen all around the body. It will get all-black interiors, which suits the rugged profile.
