India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is likely to launch the much-awaited Ciaz mid-sized sedan in the country in September. Bookings for the sedan are expected to commence soon while the production of the car have already started at the company’s Manesar plant in Haryana. Also known as Alivio sedan, the Ciaz sedan has been spotted again at the company’s manufacturing unit.
A team member from Gaadiwaadi managed to click a series of production spec Ciaz sedan. Moreover, the company is reportedly developed over 600 units of the sedan. The vehicle is believed to be offered in seven exterior shades including Perl metallic arctic white, Midnight black, Silky Silver, Glistering Grey, Clear Beige, Chocolate Brown and Fire Brick Red. The images flaunts projector headlamps, colour palette, tail lights, rear bumper with brake lights, licensing plate enclosure and badges to define the variants and engine configuration.
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. It will share its engine lineup with the Ertiga MPV that means a 1.4-litre K-Series petrol and the tried & trusted 1.3-litre diesel.
While the petrol engine produces 93.6bhp and 130Nm of top torque, the oil burner is the 1.3-litre multi-jet engine that develops 89bhp and a peak torque of 200Nm of torque. The petrol version will be paired to a 5-speed manual or CVT gearbox while the diesel engine will be paired to manual gearbox only.
