Maruti S-Presso Variants and Features Revealed
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited S-Presso mini SUV on September 30, 2019. The new model will be the brand’s newest entry-level model, which will directly rival the Renault Kwid. The S-Presso was first previewed as the Concept Future S, which was showcased at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Ahead of the launch, the features and variant details of the entry-level car have hit the internet.
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be offered in 4 variants – Std, LXi, VXi and the top-spec VXi+. The small car will receive a driver-side airbag, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminders, a digital speedometer and a speed alert system as standard safety features.
The entry-level LXi variant will receive air conditioning and power steering. The VXi variant of the S-Presso will be benefitted with features like keyless entry with central locking, Maruti’s SmartPlay Dock audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, power windows and body coloured bumpers.
The range-topping Maruti S-Presso VXi+ variant is equipped with a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system, which is available on the Wagon R and the Baleno. This infotainment will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with the voice recognition. Other features include multi-functional steering wheel, rear parcel trays, body-coloured wing mirrors and door handles, and a 12V-volt accessory socket. The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be powered by the BSVI compliant 1.0-litre K10B petrol engine. This 3-cylinder engine is capable of producing 67bhp of power and 90Nm of torque. The BSVI compliant engine will also be offered on other Maruti entry-level cars including the Alto K10, Celerio and the Wagon R. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit. The AMT unit will be offered on the VXi and the VXi+ variants. In terms of proportions, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso mini SUV is 3,565mm in length, 1,520mm in width and 1,564mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,380mm. The small S-Presso is 114mm shorter than the Renault Kwid. In fact, the wheelbase is 42mm shorter than that of the Kwid. It is 59mm narrower than the Kwid.
