Maruti S-Presso is smaller than Renault Kwid – Dimensions Leaked
Maruti Suzuki is readying an all-new mini SUV, which is scheduled to be launched on September 30, 2019. Likely to be called the Maruti S-Presso, the mini SUV will be based on the Concept Future S previewed at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The Maruti’s entry-level car will directly rival the Renault Kwid. Ahead of the launch, the dimensions of the upcoming mini SUV have been leaked on the Internet.
In terms of proportions, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso mini SUV is 3,565mm in length, 1,520mm in width and 1,564mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,380mm. The small S-Presso is 114mm shorter than the Renault Kwid. In fact, the wheelbase is 42mm shorter than that of the Kwid. It is 59mm narrower than the Kwid. However, the S-Presso is considerable 86mm taller than the Renault’s entry-level model. The raised height will result into plenty of headroom for both front and rear occupants.
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso comes with 180mm ground clearance, which is the same as that of the Kwid. In fact, the fuel tank size is 27 litres which is almost equivalent to Kwid’s 28-litre tank. The mini SUV rides on 14-inch wheels wrapped in 165/70 section tyres, while the Kwid gets smaller 13-inch wheels with 155/80 section tyres.
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso mini SUV will be powered by a BSVI compliant 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder K10B petrol engine. In the BS4 form, the powertrain produces 68bhp of power and 90Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit. The mini SUV will be available in 4 trim levels. The report claims that the mini SUV could be priced in the range of Rs 3.5 lakh – Rs 4.7 lakh. The new model will be sold exclusively through ARENA dealerships.
