New Maruti Ignis Unravelled In 9 Quick Points – Pros & Cons

3. Available with an AMT gearbox

Mechanicals powering the mini crossover have been carried over from Swift and Baleno. Available with petrol and diesel fuel options, Ignis uses the 1.2 litre K-Series petrol engine and the 1.3 litre DDiS oil burner. In terms of power, the petrol unit lead at 84bhp as opposed to the oil burner that makes 73.8bhp. Transmission choices on the new Maruti Ignis include the conventional five-speed manual unit and the automated manual transmission (AMT). With KUV100 being the only direct rival to the crossover, Ignis clearly gets a cusp over its competitor that is available with the manual unit, missing out on the AMT gearbox.
