New Maruti Ignis Unravelled In 9 Quick Points – Pros & Cons

Maruti Ignis Cons

After going through the pros of the Maruti Ignis, let us also walk you through the cons’ of the newly launched crossover.

1. Nexa Only Network – Limited Reach

Set to be retailed through Maruti Suzuki India’s premium dealerships Nexa, Ignis will have a limited reach to the customers. Unlike the regular Maruti outlets spread in every nook and corner in India, Nexa has a relatively lean network. Hence this restricts customers’ reach in smaller cities and rural India where the Nexa network is not prevalent. The smaller cities and rural market contribute a huge chunk to Maruti’s monthly sales and Ignis is a volume product that could be well in demand here.

2. Hatchback like looks

Measuring less than four meters in length, the new Maruti Ignis can be mistaken for a hatchback instead of a SUV and crossover. The small dimensions coupled to the sporty treatment rather accentuate the hatchback look. Unlike micro SUVs and crossovers, Ignis misses out on the SUV-like elements such as muscular lines, high ground clearance etc meant to give butch look. The nose is styled assertively with a bold grille, headlamps cluster and large bumper sporting round fog lamps and air-dams. What does not work well for the crossover is the side facet and rear end that miss out on the crossover-like elements.
