Launched in October 2015, Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been the top-selling premium hatchback in the country. It’s also the best-selling car retailed via Maruti Suzuki’s premium sales network – Nexa. Within six months of its arrival, the company sold 44,697 units of the hatchback. Its sales grew to 1,20,804 units in fiscal year 2017 and 1,90,480 units in financial year 2018. Maintaining the sales momentum, the Baleno achieved yet another sales mark in the Indian market. The Indo-Japanese carmaker announced that the premium hatchback has touched the notable 4 lakh sales figure showing the kind of popularity it’s enjoying here. Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been favoured for its premium design, feature packed interior and efficient powertrains. Furthermore, the affordable pricing makes it a hot cake in the market. In fact, it’s comparatively priced lower than the Hyundai Elite i20 and the Honda Jazz. Aiming to further boost its sales, the carmaker is planning to give the first update to the hatchback. The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift is likely to launch sometime next year. Rumour also has it that the hatchback’s updated model will feature a new 1.5-litre diesel engine that will debut on the Ciaz facelift that will hit showrooms in coming months.
