Marazzo Could Be The First Mahindra Car To Get BS6 Engine

Currently, prices of the Mahindra Marazzo fall in the range of Rs 10.35 lakh – Rs 14.76 lakh.

India will upgrade to BS6 emission norms from BS4 standards from 1st April, 2020. Car manufacturers are, currently, in the process of upgrading their product lineup and make them BS6-compliant. Mahindra & Mahindra will also bring in its first BS6-complaint model in the market. Reports suggest that the Mahindra Marazzo could be the company’s first model to receive BS6-ready engine.

Launched in September 2018, Mahindra Marazzo MPV comes with a 1.5L diesel engine producing power worth 121.3bhp and 300Nm of torque. This powertrain will be upgraded to meet the upcoming emission norms, while the power and torque outputs will remain unchanged. Mahindra has already confirmed that it will introduce the petrol iteration of the Marazzo next year. Furthermore, the MPV lineup will receive an AMT (automated manual transmission) version.

Mahindra Marazzo is India’s first vehicle to feature a transverse engine setup on the FWD (front-wheel-drive) platform. Since its launch, the carmaker is consistently selling around 3,000 units of the MPV on monthly basis. The Marazzo 7-seater MPV was introduced in the price range of Rs 9.99 lakh – Rs 13.95 lakh. Recently, the carmaker has increased prices of its all passenger vehicles. After the price hike, the MPV’s 7-seater variants come with price tags ranging from Rs 10.35 lakh – Rs 14.68 lakh and the 8-seater models are priced from Rs 10.35 lakh – Rs 14.76 lakh.
