Mahindra Marazzo Misses Out On These 5 Important Features!

Mahindra Marazzo MPV India

Here’s a list of 5 important features that Mahindra Marazzo doesn’t offer.

Mahindra’s much-awaited MPV (Multi-purpose vehicle) Marazzo is finally here, and I got the opportunity to drive it for a short duration at the company’s Nashik based plant. While the car has several segment-first features like all four disc brakes (as standard) and roof-mounted rear AC vents (‘surround cool technology’), it misses out on several features that even some B-segment hatchbacks offer. Here’s a list of 5 important features that Mahindra Marazzo doesn’t offer

1. Keyless Entry

At a time when the keyless entry has become a sort of industry norm, a vehicle that costs approximately Rs 11 lakh – Rs 15 lakh doesn’t have it. What’s even bigger shock is the fact that even the top-end variant doesn’t get it. We cannot understand the rational behind it, but that’s what Mahindra has decided to do. Read – Mahindra Marazzo Vs Toyota Innova Crysta

2. Engine Start-stop button

There are a very few above Rs 10 Lakh price segment cars that miss out on this features. Even cars like Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Freestyle and Hyundai Grand i10 get this feature. And when you are paying that much for a car you at least want the convenience to start a car without using the key. Read – Mahindra Marazzo Vs Maruti Ertiga

3. Automatic Headlamps

Automatic headlamp is more of a safety feature as your headlights turn on as soon as it’s dark (tunnel, dense area or in the night) in case you forget to do it. This, according to me, is a must-have features in all the cars and even premium hatchbacks get this feature. But again, Mahindra decided not to offer it. Read: Mahindra Marazzo – 10 Interesting Facts

4. 6 Airbags on top variant

While it’s great to see Mahindra Marazzo being offered with dual airbags, ABS + EBD & Brake Assist, all four disc brakes, ISOFIX child seat mounts, rear parking sensors and rear defogger as standard right from the base variant, unavailability of airbags for rear passengers even on the top-end trim is a big let down. For your reference, cars like Ford Figo, Ford Freestyle and Hyundai Elite i20’s top trims get 6 airbags. And when the same question was asked at the press conference, we got a weird reply from Mahindra officials – Our basic design is robust and with high strength-steel structure along with several other passive features, the vehicle is safe for the current and upcoming regulations. But that doesn’t justify the less number of airbags offered on the car. Read – Mahindra Marazzo Accessories Revealed

5. Rain-sensing Wipers

The driver needs to keep his/her eyes on the road instead of constantly adjusting the wipers all the time on a rainy day. And that’s where the rain-sensing wipers become so important, and thus are considered both the convenience and safety feature. But Mahindra decided to give a miss on this as well when all of its rivals do offer it. Read – New Mahindra Compact SUV To Challenge Tata Nexon

For people not in the know, Mahidndra Marazzo is available in a total of 4 variants – M2, M4, M6 & M8 – priced between Rs 9.99 lakh – Rs 13.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). Since these are introductory prices, it’s certain that the price list will be updated in coming months. For more details on Marazzo’s specifications, features, mileage, read our detailed story here.
