Mahindra’s Pininfarina Unveils Battista Electric Hypercar; Delivers A Whopping 1900bhp

The Pininfarina Battista electric hypercar will arrive in the market in 2020.

Automobili Pininfarina, the Italian design firm owned by Mahindra & Mahindra, has unveiled the world’s first luxury electric hyper performance Grand Tourer (GT). Called the Pininfarina Battista, the hyper electric supercar has been designed and developed in Italy. The production-ready version of the hypercar will arrive in the market in 2020 that will also mark 90th anniversary of the Pininfarina SpA design house. Interestingly, only 150 units of the Pininfarina Battista will be hand-crafted and will be equally allocated in markets like North America, Europe and Middle East/Asia. It will be cost around $ 2.0 million + taxes (i.e. over Rs 14 crore). This zero emission electric hypercar sits on a carbon fibre monocoque chassis and has a carbon fibre body.

At the heart of the Pininfarina Battista is a T-shaped 120 kWh battery pack and four motors along with an internal combustion engine technology. The powertain enables it deliver a whopping 1900bhp and 2300Nm of torque. Pininfarina’s all-new electric hypercar can do 0-100kmph in less than 2 seconds and 0 to 300kmph in under 12 seconds. Suspension system of the Pininfarina Battista has been “tuned specifically to deliver a thrilling, engaging and yet comfortable dynamic experience”. The driver will have an option to adjust its dynamic experience via multiple modes to a range of diving conditions. Its on-board sound programme will allow alter the noise of the car. For braking power, the hypercar makes use of the massive, carbon-ceramic 6-piston 390mm front and 390mm rear brakes. The active rear wing features an air brake function.
