Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has finally rolled out the S-Cross crossover at a starting price of Rs. 8.34 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross that was unveiled at the 2015 IIFA Awards Ceremony, will compete against the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta and Nissan Terrano. This premium crossover will be sold exclusively through Maruti’s newly-launched NEXA dealerships.

The Maruti Suzuki S Cross crossover is offered with two diesel engines (Fiat-sourced) – a 1.3-litre (DDiS 200) and a 1.6-litre Multijet (DDiS 320) – that are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed manual gearbox respectively. The 1.3-litre diesel unit churns out a maximum power of 89bhp and 200Nm of torque, while returning a fuel efficiency of 23.65kmpl. Whereas, the 1.6-litre diesel unit is capable to produce 118bhp and 320Nm. It offers a maximum mileage of 22.7kmpl.
Front fascia of the car features automatic projector headlights, a new dual-slat chrome grille, daytime running LEDs and silver skid plates. On the side profile, it gets body colored door handles and 16 inch alloy wheels. The rear end sports a black bumper with reflectors and split tail lights with a stop lamp. The S-Cross is available in six paint options – Arctic White Pearl, Silky Silver Metallic, Galactic Grey Metallic, Boost Blue Pearl Metallic, Bison Brown Pearl Metallic and Cosmic Black Pearl Metallic.
The Maruti Suzuki S Cross offers a generous cabin space, and class-leading rear seat headroom. As far as features are concerned, the crossover comes equipped with audio system with CD player, Bluetooth connectivity, steering-mounted controls, automatic climate control, Smartplay infotainment system, leather upholstery, etc. Besides this, the S-Cross hosts a wide array of safety features such as driver and co-passenger airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), cruise control, reverse parking sensor with display, engine start-stop button, anti theft security system, etc. Though, one must note that the aforementioned features vary variant-wise.
