Kia Tusker SUV Is The Hyundai Creta Rival; Launch In Early 2019

The SP concept based 5-seater SUV will be Kia’s first model to be launched in India in early 2019

Korean automaker, Kia will officially launch its first product in the Indian market in the first half of 2019, most probably in April. The company will launch a 5-seater premium SUV based on the SP concept, which was unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. This new model is likely to be called Kia Tusker. Testing of the SUV has already been commenced in India. This will be brand’s global model, which will also go on sale in select international markets.

The Kia SP based SUV – Tusker will rival the segment-leader Hyundai Creta. This segment will also see a range of new entrants including Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks and the Honda HR-V. While the overall profile of the SUV is similar to the SP concept, it will receive slight tweaks in the form of revised front fascia. The SUV will receive slightly tweaked front grille, bonnet, side creases and alloy wheels. Talking about styling elements, the Kia Tusker will get large blacked-out grille with chrome surround, sleek LED headlights and blacked-out pillars. It will also get auxiliary ED lights, which positioned below the LED headlights. The SUV will be based on the Hyundai Creta’s platform, which will be used for future Kia cars as well.
