Kia Tusker SP SUV rendered

Likely to be called the Kia Tusker, the SP Concept based Kia SUV will share engine and transmission options from Hyundai Creta

Kia Motors will officially launch its first model in the Indian car market in 2019. The new model will be a compact SUV, which will be based on the SP Concept. For people not in the know, Kia had unveiled the SP Concept compact SUV earlier this year at the 2018 Auto Expo. The company has already started testing the SUV in India, which reveals some of the design highlights. However, Korean design house, Koo Ki Sung Studio has released few renderings of the compact SUV.

The new renderings are based on the spy shots available on internet, revealing the possible design of the SUV. This rendering shows a more realistic design for the SP Concept based compact SUV. Though the overall profile still seems largely identical to concept, it receives slight tweaks in the form of grille, bonnet, side creases, and wheels and even on roof. Kia officials have already confirmed that the production-spec SP SUV’s styling will remain true to its concept. Also See – Kia SP SUV – 5 Things You Should Know

The production-spec Kia SP SUV is likely to be called the Kia Tusker. It will be based on the Hyundai Creta’s platform, which will also underpin the future Kia cars in India. The SUV will also share mechanics with the Creta, which means a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel engine. Upon launch, the Kia Tusker will take on the likes of Renault Captur, Hyundai Creta and Tata Harrier.
