Jeep Compass Trailhawk with 9-speed automatic gearbox confirmed
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is most likely to be launched in July 2019
American SUV maker, Jeep will soon launch the much-awaited Compass Trailhawk in the Indian market. This trail-rated model has finally been listed on Jeep India’s website. It is confirmed that the new Compass diesel model will come equipped with a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk has already been spotted multiple times while testing on Indian roads. In fact, interior pictures of the SUV have also hit the internet. Inside the cabin, the Trailhawk gets 7-inch full-colour MID, an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and red treatment on the instrument console.
Powering the Jeep Compass Trailhawk is a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine. This engine is capable of producing 173PS of power and 350Nm of torque. It is the brand’s most affordable trail rated SUV in India. The SUV gets several exclusive features for off-road capabilities such as the Active Drive Low 4×4 system with 20:1 crawl ratio and the Jeep Selec-Terrain traction control system with multiple modes including Rock mode. The Jeep Compass Trailhawk comes with higher ground clearance and off-road suspension setup. In terms of exterior design highlights, the SUV gets new decals on hood, red recovery hook at the rear, skid plates, ‘Trail Rated’ badging, and newly developed 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. It is expected that the pre-orders for the Compass Trailhawk will commence in June, while launch could take place in July. The SUV is likely to cost around Rs 25 lakh – Rs 30 lakh.
