Jaguar Land Rover India has rolled out the XE and XF sedans with Ingenium petrol engine in the country. Prices of the 2018 Jaguar XE petrol start from Rs 35.99 lakh, the 2018 Jaguar XF comes at a starting price of Rs 49.80 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The new petrol powertrain comes as a replacement to the 2.0-litre turbo petrol unit. The same unit recently made its debut on the Land Rover Velar SUV.
Developed by JLR, the new all-aluminium 2.0L gasoline motor is the part of the company’s modular Ingenium engine series. Both the sedans get two versions of the Ingenium engine – 197bhp and 247bhp. While the former is available on the XE Pure, XE Prestige and XF Prestige, the latter one is offered only on the Portfolio trim of the sedans. Transmission duties are performed by an 8-Speed electronic automatic transmission with Jaguar sequential shiftTM and all surface progress control. Sporting low-friction all-aluminium intensive design, JLR’s new petrol engines are claimed to offer up to 25% more power and up to 15% better fuel efficiency. The company will soon introduce the new engine on the Jaguar F-Pace and F-Type. The former will receive the 250bhp version, and the latter one might get 300bhp Ingenium petrol unit.
