Hyundai Venue SUV launching tomorrow; price expectation

The Hyundai Venue compact SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 7.5 lakh and Rs 11 lakh

The much-anticipated Hyundai Venue sub-4 meter SUV will finally go on sale in the Indian market tomorrow. A new media report claims that the top-end variant of the new-sub meter SUV could be priced as high as Rs 10.66 lakh. Going by the top-end variant price, we believe that the SUV could be priced as low as Rs 7.5 lakh for the entry-level variant.

The Hyundai Venue compact SUV will come in 4 trim levels – E, S, SX and SX(O) – and in total of 13 variants. Mass production of the SUV has already been started. In fact, Hyundai has started dispatching the new SUV to dealerships. Interested buyers can pre-order the SUV via dealerships or online at a token amount of Rs 21,000. The Hyundai Venue will directly rival the likes of Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the Maruti Vitara Brezza.

The sub-4 meter SUV will be made available in 7 single-tone colours and 3 dual-tone paint schemes. The colour options include Star Dust, Polar White, Fiery Red, Deep Forest, Lava Orange, Typhoon Silver and Denim Blue. The dual-tone paint schemes comprises of Denim Blue/Polar White roof, Polar White/ Phantom Black roof and Lava Orange/ Phantom Black roof. The Hyundai Venue sub-4 meter SUV will be available in 3 engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel. The naturally aspirated engine is capable of producing 83bhp and 115Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine will be available with 2 gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual clutch automatic. It is capable of producting 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. Paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the oil burner is good for 89bhp and 225Nm of torque.

Called a connected SUV, the Hyundai Venue comes with the advanced Blue Link connectivity solution that offers 33 different functions out of which 10 are India specific. The sub-4 meter SUV is equipped with several high-end features like 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electric sunroof, wireless charging, front light setup, projector fog lamps, navigation, Arkamys sound, air purifier and 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
