Hyundai Styx SUV Revealed In New Images; Coming In April 2019

To be based on the new-gen Santro’s platform, the Hyundai Styx compact SUV will make its debut on April 17, 2019

We informed you earlier that the much-anticipated Hyundai Styx compact SUV will make its global debut in April 2019 at the New York Auto Show. Set to be Hyundai’s smallest global SUV, the Styx will first go on sale in the Indian market in the second quarter of 2019. The SUV has been spotted multiple times on Indian as well as foreign land. This time, the spy images come from Korea.

Measuring around 3.99 meters in length, the Hyundai Styx will share platform with the new-gen Santro. This platform will also underpin the new-gen Hyundai Grand i10, which is currently in its testing phase. In India, the all-new Styx will rival the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the upcoming Mahindra XUV300.

The small SUV will feature Hyundai’s new family design, featuring hexagonal front grille, two-piece headlamp and more boxy shape. It is expected to share styling cues with the bigger Santa Fe and Creta. The spy images reveal a squeezed Creta, featuring flared wheel arches with peripheral cladding. The mildly-sloped C-pillar and Creta-inspired tail gate hind that there will be enough cabin space for occupants. The rear too seems inspired with the Hyundai Creta. The Hyundai Styx cabin is most likely to be equipped with premium features. Spy images reveal that the SUV will offer all-black cabin with bolstered seats. The dashboard is fitted with a large touchscreen infotainment system, which will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. All modern features like automatic climate control, multi-functional steering wheel, rear AC, electrically adjustable ORVMs and others will be on offer. The Hyundai Styx will also mark the debut of brand’s new 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine in India. While the former is capable of producing 118bhp and 171Nm of torque, the oil burner is likely to offer around 115bhp of power. Both manual and AMT gearbox options will be on offer.
