After launching the new FZ S V3.0, Yamaha is now planning to launch an all-new exciting naked streetfighter – MT-15 in India. In fact, testing of the motorcycle has already been started on Indian roads. According to CarWale.com, Yamaha dealers have also started taking pre-orders for the upcoming naked street bike. Interested buyers can book the new motorcycle at select dealerships for Rs 5,000, while deliveries are likely to commence by March 2019. The report further claims that the 2019 Yamaha MT-15 motorcycle will be launched in India in March 2019.

Yamaha MT-15 is basically the naked version of the popular fully-faired YZF R15 V3.0. Set to be positioned above the FZ V3.0, the new 150cc entry-level sports bike will directly challenge the KTM Duke 125. The motorcycle comes with aggressive design, featuring sporty headlamp section, sculpted fuel tank and a high-set tail-section. The bike gets a single-piece handlebar and a single-seat unit.

While the global model is equipped with golden upside down front forks, the India-spec model will receive the conventional telescopic front forks and monoshock unit at the rear. The motorcycle will also receive dual disc brakes and dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System). The Yamaha MT-15 naked bike will be powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with variable valve actuation that also powers the fully-faired YZF R15 V3.0. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 19bhp of power and 15Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheel via a 6-speed manual gearbox along with slip-assist clutch.

The Yamaha MT-15 naked bike is likely to be priced around Rs 1.20 lakh. It will directly rival the KTM 125 Duke and the Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
