Mahindra XUV300 petrol and diesel to return a fuel efficiency of 17kmpl and 20kmpl respectively.

The Mahindra XUV300 is undoubtedly one of the most awaited cars of 2019. Ahead of the scheduled launched on February 14, 2019, new details about the safety, features and variant details of the XUV300 have been leaked online. The SUV will come with several segment-first features, most powerful petrol and diesel engines and a factory-fitted sunroof. Now, the official ARAI certified fuel efficiency figures of the Mahindra XUV300 have been leaked on the internet.

The report claims that the XUV300 petrol offers an ARAI certified fuel economy of 17kmpl, while the diesel has a fuel efficiency of 20kmpl. The turbo-petrol XUV300’s number is similar to the figures for the petrol powered Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport. In fact, it is more fuel efficient that the petrol powered Hyundai Creta. What’s more interesting is that the Mahindra XUV300 petrol engine will offer significantly more torque than all the above mentioned SUVs. Coming back to the diesel XUV300, the 20kmpl mileage is lower than most of its rivals. The fuel efficiency figures for diesel powered Nexon, EcoSport and Creta stands at 21.5kmpl, 23kmpl and 21.3kmpl respectively. In fact, the segment-leader Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza offers an ARAI certified fuel economy of 24.3kmpl. Similar to the petrol XUV300, the diesel model has an advantage of high torque. It is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine producing 123bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. The SUV offers 100Nm more torque than the Vitara Brezza and around 40Nm more than the Tata Nexon. The Mahindra XUV300 is based on the SsangYong’s X100 platform that also underpins the Tivoli. The SUV is claimed to have the longest wheelbase of 2,600mm, which should translate into spacious cabin. The SUV will be available in 4 trim levels – W4, W6, W8 and W8 (O). The top-spec model will receive 7 airbags, dual-zone climate control, smart steering with 3 steering modes, micro-hybrid technology (diesel), a factory fitted electric sunroof, all-disc brakes and many more.
