Hyundai Styx (Mahindra XUV300 Rival) – When Will It Launch?

The Hyundai Styx sub-4 meter SUV will make its global debut at the 2019 New York Motor Show on April 17.

Korean automaker, Hyundai is working on a compact SUV to challenge the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the much-anticipated Mahindra XUV300. The sub-4 meter SUV will be based on the new-gen Santro’s platform, which will also underpin the next-gen Grand i10. Likely to be called Hyundai STYX, the compact SUV is scheduled to make its global debut at the 2019 New York Motor Show on April 17.

The New York Auto Show’s unveiling indicates that the new model will be Hyundai’s smallest SUV for global markets. However, the mini SUV will first go on sale in the Indian market which will be followed by global markets including Korea and American markets. The Hyundai Styx will be positioned slightly premium over the current lot of sub-4 meter SUVs in India. Hyundai will bank on premium and feature-loaded cabin along with premium design to cater to the urban buyers. The SUV will also mark the debut of 2 new engines, which includes a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre TDI diesel. Also See – Hyundai Styx – 5 Things to know

The small petrol engine is capable of producing 118bhp of maximum power and 175Nm of torque. On the other, the oil burner is expected to produce over 115bhp of power. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and an AMT unit.
