Hyundai’s popular Grand i10 hatchback has finally entered into its third-generation with the launch of all-new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. The hatchback lineup is spread across four trims and 10 variants (5 petrol MT, 2 petrol AMT, 2 diesel MT and 1 diesel AMT).

While the petrol version of the Grand i10 Nios has been priced in the range of Rs 4.99 lakh – Rs 6.98 lakh, the diesel models cost from Rs 6.70 lakh to Rs 7.99 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, India.

Improved Styling

Sporting the global design language, the new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios appears premium than its predecessor. It’s the first vehicle in its segment to feature projector fog lamps, chrome outside door handles, integrated roof rails, shark fin antenna and rear chrome garnish. It also gets a new front grille, new headlamp clusters with projector lamps, bonnet with multiple bold creases and R15 diamond cut alloy wheels. Bigger Dimensions & More Space

The new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is longer and wider than before. In fact, its wheelbase has also been increased. The carmaker claims that the new model offers more headroom, legroom and shoulder room, while ensuring better visibility and comfort for all occupants. The hatchback now measures 3805mm in length, 1680mm in width and 1520mm in height with a wheelbase of 2450mm.

Multiple Colour Options

Hyundai is offering three colour schemes exclusively for the Indian market, namely, Titan Grey, Aqua Blue and Alpha Blue. Upmarket Interior

Major changes have also been made inside the cabin. Features such as premium seat upholstery, wavy pattern, loop type inside door handles and unique centre fascia design enhance its new feel and appeal. The electrically adjustable and folding outside mirrors, start/stop button, tilt steering and driver side height adjustment add more to its comfort levels.

The new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios also comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and voice recognition. The Arkamys premium sound system solves the entertainment purpose. The Grand i10 Nios is the first car in its league to offer wireless charging system.  

Safer Than Before

The new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios offers dual airbags, ABS with EBD, driver and passenger seatbelt reminder, rear parking sensors, speed alert system and seatbelt pretensioners as standard safety features. The rear view camera, speed sensing door lock, headlamp escort system and impact sensing door unlock are exclusively made available in the range-topping trim. BS6-Compliant Engines

Similar to the old model, the new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios comes with a 1.2L Kappa petrol and a 1.2L CRDi diesel engine. Both powertrains now comply to the upcoming BS6 emission norms that will be enforced from 1st April, 2020. The gasoline unit makes 82bhp with 114Nm of torque, and the oil burner produces 74bhp with 190Nm. The hatchback can be had either with a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT gearbox.
