Electric Vs Normal Tata Altroz – Design, Technical Changes Explained

Tata Altroz EV Vs Altroz ICE

Previewed at the 2020 Auto Expo, the Tata Altroz EV will see a release later this year or early next year. After the Nexon EV, it will be the second electric car from the home-grown carmaker targeting masses. Similar to the regular model, the electric iteration of the hatchback will sit on the new Alfa platform.

Speaking to a media publication, Pratap Bose, Head of Tata Motor Design Department, has revealed that the ride height of the Altroz EV has been marginally increased to accommodate some extra batteries. The final model of the Tata Altroz EV is likely to come with larger wheels and tyres giving it a further lift.

Compared to the regular model, the electric hatchback will offer a raised floor for the back seat occupants. The EV’s rear seat passenger will slightly lower, thanks to its lower ‘h’ (hip point). The interior packaging of the Altroz EV will be different than the standard model. The former one will have a drive mode selector instead of the gear shifter and the centre console will be removed. This will make it feel more spacious. Read – Tata Goshaq (Maruti Dzire Rival) to be based on Altroz Hatchback
