BS6 Hyundai Venue with 1.5L Diesel Engine Launching Soon

Korean automaker, Hyundai has started taking pre-orders for the BS6-compliannt versions of the Venue, Elite i20 and the Grand i10. A new media report claims that the BS6-compliant Hyundai Venue will receive significant changes in the form of new mechanics.

The 2020 Hyundai Venue will receive a new 1.5-litre diesel engine, which will replace the 1.4-litre diesel engine. In the current form, the 1.4L unit produces 89bhp of power and 220Nm of torque. The new BSVI compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine is currently available with the Kia Seltos, and will also power the Verna facelift and the upcoming new-gen Hyundai Creta.

The Venue will receive the de-tuned version of the 1.5-litre diesel engine. In the current state of tune, this engine produces 114bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. We believe that the Venue’s version will deliver close to 100bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. The de-tuned version of the 1.5-litre diesel engine will also power the next-gen i20 hatchback, which is expected to be unveiled in March-April 2020. The new model is likely to be launched in the mid-2020, around June-July. Hyundai will launch the new-gen Creta SUV in the country in March 2020. It will share the engine options with the Seltos SUV, which includes a 115bhp, 1.5-litre petrol with CVT, a 115bhp, 1.5-litre diesel with a 6-speed torque convertor and a 138bhp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol with a 7-speed DCT. The Hyundai Verna facelift will be offered with 2 new engine options – a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. Similar to the Seltos diesel, the BSVI Hyundai Venue could also receive a six-speed torque convertor automatic option. The upcoming Kia Sonet compact SUV will also share the engine options and platform with the Hyundai Venue.
