Great Wall Motors (GWM) has already confirmed that it will begin its Indian operations with the Haval SUV brand next year. The Chinese carmaker showcased a range of Haval SUVs alongside with the Ora R1 electric hatchback at the recently-concluded Auto Expo 2020. The Haval F5 and F7 premium SUVs will be the first two vehicles from the Chinese automaker in the country. While the former will be put against the Tata Harrier and MG Hector, the latter one will take on Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson. Here, we have listed 5 facts about the H5.

1. Bigger Than MG Hector

In terms of proportions, the Haval F5 measures 4,470mm in length, 1,857mm in width and 1,638mm in height. It has a 2,680mm of wheelbase. Compared to the MG Hector, the F5 is longer, wider and taller. 2. Sunroof and Cruise Control

Haval’s first SUV for India will be loaded with several comfort goodies including the sunroof and cruise control. A panoramic sunroof appeals many buyers and both its arch rivals (Harrier and Hector) offer it. Though, it has been reserved for the top-spec trim. The cruise control system automatically controls the speed of the vehicle by adjusting the throttle position.

3. Shares Platform With H6

4. Coupe-like Design

The Haval SUV carries coupe-like slopping roofline along with styling bits such as sharp shoulder line and rising window line. The SUV also features a large grill with chrome trim, angular and slim headlamps and faux skid plate, LED taillamps, dual exhaust ports and a faux splitter.

5. Petrol Engine Only

In India, the Haval F5 will be made available with petrol engine only. Powering the SUV will be a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine pushing out a peak power of 168PS and a peak torque of 285Nm. For performing transmission duties, it will have a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) gearbox. The SUV will come with the FWD (front-wheel-drive) system and offer three driving modes – Standard, Eco and Sport.
