BS6 Honda WR-V Diesel Mileage Drops; Still Highest in Segment
BS6 Honda WR-V compact SUV is all set to hit showrooms in coming weeks. Ahead of its official price and details announcement, mileage figures of the vehicle have been leaked on the web. According to a fresh media report, the updated WR-V petrol and diesel will return fuel efficiency of 16.5kmpl and 23.7kmpl respectively. Compared to its BS4 version that offers 17.5kmpl (petrol) and 25.5kmpl (diesel), the BS6-complinant model is slightly less frugal.
Even with reduced mileage figures, the BS6 Honda WR-V diesel will remain the most fuel efficient car in its segment. The diesel-powered Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon deliver 23.3kmpl, 21.7kmpl and 22.4kmpl respectively. The updated WR-V petrol, on the other hand, is the least fuel economical in its category.
Powering the 2020 Honda WR-V will be the BS6-compliant 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel engines making power worth 90bhp with 110Nm and 100bhp with 200Nm respectively. Minor changes will be made to its exterior and interior. The BS6 Honda WR-V will get LED projector headlamps along with LED DRLs and position lamps. The front grille and C-shaped LED taillamps will also be revised. Inside, the compact SUV will get a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated on a piano black centre console. It will also come with one-touch electric sunroof and cruise control.
Currently, the Honda WR-V petrol comes in the price range of Rs 8.08 lakh – Rs 9.35 lakh and the diesel variants cost between Rs 9.16 lakh – Rs 10.48 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The updated model lineup is likely to witness minor price hike.
