BS6 Ford Endeavour Coming Soon; Unofficial Bookings Open
Select Ford dealers have started accepting pre-bookings for the BS6 Ford Endeavour SUV that will see a release in coming weeks. We have reported earlier that the SUV will receive a new 2.0L single turbo diesel engine, which is a tuned down version of the global-spec Ford Everest (Endeavour).
Benefited with the direct commonrail injection technology, the oil burner returns a claimed power of 210.5bhp at 3,750rpm and 500Nm at 1,750rpm- 2,000rpm. Globally, it is offered with the brand’s new 10-speed automatic transmission developed jointly by Ford and GM. The India-spec BS6 Ford Endeavour with the new single turbo diesel will produce power worth 170bhp at 3,500rpm and a torque of 420Nm between 1,750rpm-385rpm.
Compared to the existing BS4 2.2L diesel engine that’s good for 158bhp and 385Nm, the new oil burner will be more powerful and torqueier. The BS4 3.2L diesel engine, however, is more powerful than the upcoming single-turbo diesel motor. The carmaker will scrap out the existing BS4 2.2L and 3.2L oil burners from the Endeavour lineup. Similar to the global model, the India-spec BS6 Ford Endeavour will get the 10-speed automatic gearbox instead of the 6-speed automatic transmission. The SUV’s updated model will also receive the ‘Ford Pass’ connected car technology. No other cosmetic or feature changes will be made to the new version. It will continue to offer an 8-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, steering mounted controls, hill descent control, ABS with EBD, traction control, multiple airbags and more.
Currently, the Ford Endeavour comes in three variants – Titanium 4X2 MT, Titanium+ 4X2 AT and Titanium+ 4X4 AT – priced at Rs 29.20 lakh, Rs 32.33 lakh and Rs 34.70 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The BS6 compliant version of the SUV is likely to be offered at a starting price of Rs 32 lakh (ex-showroom).
