BS6 Bajaj Avenger Street 220 Power Figure Out; Launch Soon
A few weeks ago, we brought you the price list of the 2020 Bajaj Avenger BS6 cruiser motorcycles. Now, we can tell you engine details of the BS6 Bajaj Avenger Street 220 that’s priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). According to RTO documents, the cruiser’s updated model will be packed with a 220cc, air-cooled engine delivering a maximum power of 18.7bhp (14kW) at 8,400rpm. The torque figure is likely to remain unchanged – i.e. 17.5Nm at 7,000rpm.
The 2020 Bajaj Avenger Street 220 measures 2210mm in length, 806mm in width and 1142mm in height. Its gross vehicle weight stands at 313kg. The cruiser motorcycle sits on a 1490mm long wheelbase. Similar to the BS4 version, the updated one will feature the telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers.
The braking system will include the same front disc and rear drum brakes along with the single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). The BS6 Bajaj Avenger Street 220 might get a new windscreen, updated mirrors and new colour scheme.
Styling bits such as roadster headlamp with LED DRLs (daytime running lights), body graphics, a large insignia, blacked engine, black alloy wheels and rubberized rear grab rail are likely to be carried over from the existing BS4 model. Read – Bajaj Avenger 700 In The Works?
The BS6-compliant Bajaj Avenger Street 160 and Cruiser 220 have been priced at Rs 89,536 and Rs 1.15 lakh respectively (all, ex-showroom Mumbai). While the former gets expensive by Rs 7,501, the latter witnessed a price hike of around Rs 11,584. Official launch of the 2020 Avenger cruiser range is likely to happening in coming weeks.
